San-Der Liao joined Gunty, McCarthy, & Moore as an associate attorney in January 2026. She was admitted to the Illinois Bar in November 2025 after earning her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law in May 2025.
Sander focuses her practice on civil litigation. Before joining Gunty McCarthy & Moore, she developed a strong foundation in legal research through judicial externships in both state and federal courts in Chicago, where she analyzed complex procedural and substantive issues and assisted in drafting court opinions and bench memoranda. She also gained experience in motion practice and litigation support at a Chicago personal injury law firm prior to joining Gunty, McCarthy & Moore.
During law school, Sander graduated cum laude and earned Dean’s List recognition for five consecutive semesters. She served on the Moot Court Honors Council and the Trial Advocacy and Dispute Resolution Honors Council, and she competed in ABA Client Counseling and Negotiation competitions, earning regional recognition for her advocacy and written work. She was also a member of the UIC Review of Intellectual Property Law.
